Internal Directives

Internal directives are similar to data directives, except that the specified name starts with the orb- prefix (which is not valid in property names). For details about data directives, see "Data Directives", earlier in this document.

The following example shows the format of an internal directive.

<@@ orb-identifier @@>

Valid internal directives are as follows.

<@@ orb‑id @@>

The orb‑id directive is expanded to an identifier that is guaranteed to uniquely represent the current expansion object. This value can be safely used as an HTML id attribute or the data-orb-id attribute (or both).

To enable removing items from a page with live events, the data-orb-id attribute must be set to the expansion of <@@ orb-id @@>; for example:

<div id="<@@ orb-id @@>" data-orb-id="<@@ orb-id @@>"> ... </div>
```
The expanded value of the orb-id directive is an implementation detail and is subject to change.
<@@ orb‑headers @@>

The orb‑headers directive must be placed inside the <head> element of the HTML page. This directive expands HTML, which includes default assets, into the web page.

The default assets include the default Orb scripts and any style sheets added with the addStylesheet method of the Orb class.

If this directive is not used, functionality provided by data-orb-* HTML data attributes (such as live updates and triggers) will not function.
